The annual run to Clare in Suffolk looked like a non starter when it was reported that the chippie was only open in the evenings, not to be put off easily Mike Hobbs contacted them, they very kindly agreed to open especially for us. With this arrangement in mind and following the exceptionally long hot dry spell the weather became unsettled but fortunately everything aligned and the sun came out.

Meeting as usual at Scotsdale’s Garden Centre Gt. Shelford several took advantage of the excellent cafe to top up before the off.

An unusual route through some very fine Suffolk countryside brought us safely to the beautiful little town of Clare, we were greeted with a warm smile and the service was amazing, how they managed to serve us all so quickly with delicious freshly cooked food to order we’ll never know. so a big shout out for the Clare Fish and Chip Shop.
